Dr Benskin obtained his primary medical degree at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica and Barbados. His ophthalmic career started in The Ophthalmology Department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital during the period 1998-2000. Dr. Benskin completed his training in the UK in Ophthalmology where he Worked and studied exclusively in ophthalmology departments the United Kingdom.
Vitreo-retinal Retinal Fellowships were completed at The University Hospital Leicester and Wirral University Teaching Hospital .He then Returned to Barbados in 2007 and started the Vitreo-retinal service . This caters to the public of Barbados and also numerous patients from the Caribbean and is the only such service in the Eastern Caribbean.
