Dr. Ronnie Bhola is the Chairman of the Trinidad Eye Hospital’s Board of Directors. Firmly believing that eye surgery is about restoring dignity and self-esteem, not only vision; the Trinidad Eye Hospital is committed to providing high quality, affordable eye care services with integrity, compassion and humility.
Ronnie was born in Trinidad and did his MBBS degree at UWI, Jamaica. Today, he is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh), and holds a Certificate of Completion of Higher Specialist Training from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (London). After several years of service in the public hospitals in Trinidad and Tobago he realized that a new approach was needed to raise the standard of eye care and develop training in the Caribbean. He decided to form the Trinidad Eye Hospital to provide the region with a beacon of light for the future.
Dr. Bhola is a member of the Ophthalmological Society of the West Indies (OSWI) and an Adjunct Professor with the John A. Moran Eye Center in the University of Utah’s School of Medicine.
